Kajabi Pricing for 2022: Is It Worth the Money?
Kajabi is known for its world-class online course creation because of its "all-in-one" features, but how much does it cost?
And what does "all-in-one" mean anyway?
Well, Kajabi's features allow you to do away with many third-party integrations and management systems β such as email marketing and web hosting.
But is it worth the money? Let's discuss.
Here is an overview of Kajabi's pricing plans and reasons why you should β or shouldn't β choose them for your online course platform.
(You can check out our comprehensive Kajabi review here.)
Kajabi Pricing Plans
Kajabi offers three different pricing plans:
- Basic Plan: $149/month or $119/month when billed annually
- Growth Plan: $199/month or $159/month when billed annually
- Pro Plan: $399/month or $319/month when billed annually
Key Features of All Plans
Kajabi is a "one-stop-shop" for online course creation with an excellent built-in infrastructure that eliminates the need for third-party management and marketing tools.
And the great thing about all Kajabi pricing plans is that you have access to most of the features no matter which plan you choose.
The pricing tiers depend on marketing features such as the number of digital products you can sell, sales pipelines, membership site, contacts, etc., that you're allotted per plan.
Kajabi's platform includes a blog and website builder, allowing you to get rid of third-party hosting platforms like Wix, WordPress, or Squarespace. You can also create a beautiful landing page.
Kajabi also has a built-in email marketing tool, eliminating the need for other marketing tools such as MailChimp and ConvertKit.
And you're never charged a transaction fee with any Kajabi pricing plan.
Here are some other key features you'll get with whatever plan you choose:
- No transaction fees
- Payment processing with Stripe and PayPal
- Real-time analytics
- Course and page building customization
- Built-in video streaming
- Private community
- Unlimited video hosting
- Sales funnel builder
- Mobile app
- Content dripping
- Assessments
- Unlimited landing pages
- Unlimited marketing emails
Does Kajabi Offer a Free Plan?
Kajabi does not offer a free plan. However, you can take any of their plans for a test drive with a 14-day free trial.
Kajabi's Basic Plan
Kajabi's Basic Plan is a pricey $119 a month β with an annual subscription β which may sound pretty steep compared to other plans like Thinkific or Teachable.
But with the incredible features you're getting, you can save your pennies elsewhere by dumping other unnecessary tools for hosting, analytics, and email marketing (which is great, but we've heard not-so-great things about their email deliverability, sadly, so caveat emptor.)
What's Not So Great?
While Kajabi's features are such that you can practically run your whole online business with the Kajabi Basic Plan, there are some limitations:
- Only 3 products and pipelines
- Only 1,000 active members (and 10,000 total contacts)
- Limited to 1 website and 1 admin user
- No affiliate program
- Kajabi branding
- Email deliverability is not so great
Bottom Line?
Kajabi's Basic Plan is good value for solopreneurs just getting their feet wet as an online course creator. The biggest downside? You can't remove Kajabi branding with the Basic Plan, there's no affiliate program and you could struggle to get email to your customers.
Kajabi's Growth Plan
Kajabi's Growth Plan is $159 a month β again if you pay annually. The Kajabi Growth Plan has everything included in the Basic Plan, with increases in products, pipelines, and members, plus some extra goodies:
- 15 products and pipelines
- 10,000 active members (and 25,000 total contacts)
- 10 admins (you're still limited to only 1 website)
- 24/7 chat support
- Advanced automations
- White-labeling
- An affiliate program
The advanced automation and affiliate marketing features are what really make Kajabi's Growth Plan shine. Marketing automation allows you to automatically send reward coupons, alerts, and emails, enabling you to upsell.
The affiliate marketing feature allows you to earn a 30% commission through your affiliate link.
Bottom Line?
Kajabi's Growth Plan has everything you need to run a successful online course business. For a $40 increase per month over the Basic Plan, the Growth Plan adds valuable marketing and administration features.
The addition of an affiliate program and getting rid of Kajabi's branding are the Growth Plan's real stars. These essential marketing tools set you up for a profitable business.
However, Kajabi does not offer unlimited courses like some other platforms and it also limits the number of active users you can have. So there is a bit of a trade-off.
Kajabi's Pro Plan
Kajabi's Pro Plan is $319 a month β if billed annually β and increases your products and sales funnels but adds only one new feature:
- 100 products and pipelines
- 20,000 active members (and 100,000 total contacts)
- 3 websites
- Adds a code editor
- 24/7 customer support
Bottom Line?
The addition of the code editor adds a level of full customization options that aren't available with the Basic and Pro Plans. Still, with a hefty monthly fee, the Kajabi Pro Plan is best suited for digital agencies and larger business owners.
Small business owners and solopreneurs are at a disadvantage because the customization features with Kajabi's other plans are lacking. It's hard to justify the monthly fee just to have access to the code editor.
Kajabi Access
In addition to the Kajabi platform plans, Kajabi has introduced a new feature called Access.
For $99 a month, you can get weekly "Kajabi Hero Hub" hours with the Kajabi team, one-on-one sessions with a Customer Success Manager, and the ability to double the limits for products, members, sites, etc., on whatever Kajabi plan you have.
Alternatives to Kajabi
Kajabi is one of the most popular learning management systems for content creators out there and for good reason.
But there are quite a few online course platforms out there too, so there are several viable alternatives to Kajabi. Some names include Teachable, Thinkific, and Xperiencify (see our direct comparison article) to name a few.
As an all-in-one business platform, we canβt deny Kajabi's brilliant range of features
On the surface, Kajabi seems to have it all. But that's part of the problem.
In our experience, when platforms try to do so much, they can end up doing everything in a "meh" kind of way. Everything is just OK β just good enough to keep you from leaving.
After all, when you're spread so thin, it's a mighty task not to slip on quality. Especially when you're quite literally trying to do everything for everybody.
So, our recommendation is simple β Kajabi seems like good value, but buyer beware.
Murray loves building software platforms that make life easier for marketers and entrepreneurs. It's all he does. He's built many tools over the years and helped thousands of people start and grow their business, which is his driving motivation.
His latest project is Xperiencify -- a new LMS / online course platform that fixes the "dirty secret" of the online course industry (which is that 3% of people get results from the course they buy.) They do it with a powerful combination of psychology π§ , gamification πΉοΈ and Silicon Valley "black magic". π₯·
